Battambang Institute of Technology Encourages Vocational Skills for Youth Career Advancement

The Battambang Institute of Technology (BIT) in Battambang Province, western Cambodia, is strongly encouraging young people to choose practical vocational training (TVET) as their post-high school path. The institute focuses on cultivating immediately employable graduates who meet market needs, aiming to provide them with swift entry into the workforce. Teng Chinda, Director of BIT, emphasized, "Regardless of academic results, the most crucial factor is selecting a clear specialization that the market truly demands." For the new academic year, the institute plans to enroll students in 13 specialized fields, including Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Management, and Information Technology. Furthermore, for young individuals facing economic hardship, BIT offers full scholarship programs waiving tuition fees and provides dormitory accommodations. This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens on families and expand opportunities for youth to acquire specialized skills. Director Chinda urged high school graduates to consider their career choices not solely based on diplomas or grades, but by evaluating market demands that can lead to future employment and income. This effort is designed to create employment opportunities for Cambodian youth and contribute to the nation's industrial development.
