Cambodia Pitches Agro-Industrial Investment to Indonesian Giant JAPFA

PHNOM PENH, Sept 16, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has promoted investment opportunities in agriculture and agro‑industrial investment to Indonesia’s JAPFA Group, highlighting incentives and a new framework aimed at attracting private capital into agricultural processing and value‑added production, officials said Wednesday. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee, met a JAPFA delegation led by company director Mark Gerald Eman at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). During the meeting, Vuthy briefed the delegation on Cambodia’s Law on Investment, including incentives and government policies supporting business activities. He also outlined the Development Framework for Agro‑Industrial Parks, introduced on May 29, 2026, which seeks to draw private investment into agricultural processing and increase value addition in the sector. Vuthy welcomed JAPFA’s interest, saying Cambodia’s agriculture and agro‑industrial sectors hold significant potential and need experienced companies to help maximise opportunities. Founded in Indonesia in 1971, JAPFA Group is a leading Asian agri‑food company with operations in Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. It follows an integrated “Feed–Farm–Food” model covering animal feed production, livestock farming, processing, manufacturing and food distribution. Eman thanked Cambodian officials for the meeting and acknowledged the country’s rapid development. He said Cambodia’s investment law was open and transparent, offering competitive incentives and a dedicated policy framework for agro‑industry. He expressed optimism about Cambodia as an investment destination.
