Golden Triangle Buddha Statue Undergoes Major Restoration in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI – The Wiang Subdistrict Municipality is initiating a significant renovation of the Golden Triangle Buddha Statue in Chiang Rai, Thailand. This large riverside monument, known locally as Phra Phuttha Nawa Lan Tue, is undergoing immediate repairs and will be freshly coated in gold to restore its former magnificence. The statue is situated in Ban Sabruak, precisely at the confluence of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, serving as a vital spiritual hub for both local residents and international visitors. Over time, the outdoor monument has suffered wear and tear from adverse weather conditions. Local leaders are now undertaking a comprehensive restoration, including deep repairs and re-gilding of the entire structure, with the aim of making the sacred figure more complete and spectacular than ever before.
