Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan expressed Vietnam's welcome for ongoing international initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation against online scams, with a particular focus on implementing the UN Convention against Cybercrime (the Hanoi Convention). Experts have noted that fraudsters are utilizing AI to create highly realistic fake images, voices, and videos, posing as relatives, company leaders, or government officials to solicit money transfers or sensitive information. During his address at the high-level general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) in New York, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam emphasized Vietnam's choice of peace, cooperation, and development. He affirmed the nation's commitment as an active member of the international community to continuously work with other countries to strengthen the UN, uphold international law, and translate commitments into tangible benefits for the people.
