Innovative and entrepreneurial projects from across Vietnam have reached the final round of the 2026 "Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Project" competition. Twenty-nine projects have been selected for the final stage, showcasing diverse ideas aimed at fostering economic development and social contribution among rural youth. The final round will feature projects spanning a wide range of fields, including agricultural development applying science and technology, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, integration with local industries, and the development of community tourism. Participants will present their project's feasibility and innovation through direct Q&A sessions with the judging panel. This competition is part of Vietnam's rural development strategy, particularly emphasizing youth empowerment, a key focus within the country's one-party system that prioritizes balancing economic growth with social stability. Addressing the urban-rural development gap remains a critical national objective, even as Vietnam's economy experiences remarkable growth. The initiative not only serves as a platform for business idea competition but also encourages the creation of sustainable development models that leverage Vietnam's traditional culture and regional resources. In the context of complex relations with China, strengthening the domestic economy and local economies holds significant strategic importance for Vietnam, potentially contributing to economic diversification and enhancing Vietnam's international economic standing. Past editions have yielded numerous success stories, including innovations in agricultural technology, branding of handicrafts, and the promotion of ecotourism. This year's competition is expected to foster new innovations and drive economic growth originating from rural areas. Source: Nhan Dan
