Cambodia Honors Top High School Students with Encouragement Awards from Prime Minister and Spouse
In Cambodia's Tboung Khmum province, students who achieved excellent results in their high school exit exams were honored. The Minister of Environment presented encouragement awards from the Prime Minister and his spouse, expressing expectations for their future contributions to national development.
In Cambodia's Tboung Khmum province (O'Russei, Ponhea Krek, and Tboung Khmum districts), students who achieved excellent results in the 2025-2026 academic year's high school exit examinations (Bak Doep) were honored on Monday, September 14, 2026. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment and Head of the Government Working Group for Tboung Khmum Province, presented valuable encouragement awards from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his spouse, Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, to a total of 2,485 successful candidates, including 31 who received an 'A' grade, commending their diligent efforts. During the occasion, the Minister highly praised the students' dedication to their studies and also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the District Office of Education, Youth, and Sports, as well as all teachers who contributed to their students' success. He strongly encouraged the high-achieving young individuals to enhance their skills in technology and foreign languages to become influential human resources contributing to the nation's development and achieving the national visions of 2030 and 2050. The Minister emphasized the importance for students to pursue their dreams and seize opportunities for higher education or specialized technical training to meet actual labor market demands. He further encouraged all award-winning students to pursue higher education to build brighter futures for themselves and strengthen their capabilities to contribute to the development of their homeland, becoming strong pillars for the nation in the future. Greetings were also conveyed from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and his spouse Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his spouse. The Minister stated that the Prime Minister and all levels of leadership highly commend the students' efforts, which bring pride and satisfactory achievements not only to themselves but also to their parents, families, and the entire nation. Encouragement awards in the form of cash, as a generous gift from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his spouse, were presented to the students, teachers, and educational staff in the locality. For the high school exit examination held on August 10, 2026, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport officially announced the results on September 2, 2026. The national pass rate was 84.6%, with 2,022 students nationwide achieving an 'A' grade. In Tboung Khmum province, a total of 6,192 candidates competed for the high school diploma in both science and social science streams for the 2025-2026 academic year, including 3,623 female candidates. Based on official data for the high school exit examination on August 10, 2026, Tboung Khmum province achieved remarkable results, with 5,258 candidates passing, representing 85.51% of all candidates. Among them, 63 students achieved an 'A' grade.
