The 143rd Buddhist Devotion Festival of the historic PhoundawOo Pagoda, located in Myitkyina city, Mandalay Region, will be held in September, according to the pagoda trustees. The Buddhist Devotion Festival will be held grandly from September 19th to 29th, with stalls, amusement rides, traditional Myanmar boat races, and alms offerings. It has been learned that in order for the public visiting the pagoda festival to have a peaceful and enjoyable time, sub-committees such as the Security Sub-committee, Health Sub-committee, relevant sub-committees, and Information Sub-committee have been formed and are working under the leadership of the Festival Organizing Committee. Stalls and amusement attractions that will be set up during the festival days will be systematically arranged in locations such as PhoundawOo Pagoda Road, near Dhamma Theikdi Shwe Zigon Pagoda, Nanpalaw Kone ward, and near Myitkyina North Lake. Furthermore, it has been learned that the traditional Myanmar boat race, which is held annually at the historic PhoundawOo Pagoda's Buddhist Devotion Festival, will be held separately in senior and junior categories.
