PKB Pledges Continued Support for Prabowo's Economic Policies, Emphasizing Equity and National Economic Independence
Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), Chairman of Indonesia's National Awakening Party (PKB), praised President Prabowo Subianto's paradigm shift in national economic development. The PKB pledged continued support for the administration's focus on equity and fair distribution alongside economic growth, and its commitment to regulatory reforms for national economic independence.
Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), has praised the paradigm shift in national economic development conceptualized by President Prabowo Subianto. This was stated by Cak Imin in front of Prabowo during the 28th PKB Anniversary event. "This seriousness is what brings us all today to one conclusion: the new direction of this economy must not stop. The PKB will continue to be with Mr. Prabowo to succeed in this new direction of the economy," asserted Cak Imin at JICC Jakarta on Thursday (23/7/2026). Cak Imin mentioned that the current government is not only oriented towards economic growth but also strives to prioritize equity and justice, which often do not go hand in hand. "We work hard together with legislative and executive parties to achieve economic growth. Various regulations are also made by all of us to achieve economic growth together. However, we sometimes forget that economic growth is not always in line with equity and justice," he expressed. According to him, the Prabowo administration is now beginning to shift this paradigm by placing economic growth, equity, and justice in parallel with economic growth. Cak Imin emphasized that the PKB is ready to oversee the refinement of various efforts to achieve national economic independence. "This is our commitment and seriousness to follow up by perfecting all steps as part of perfecting the direction of our economic independence," said Cak Imin. Furthermore, Cak Imin touched upon the change in the direction of the government's budget policy, stating that these policies should provide direct benefits to the community. He mentioned that the construction of 5,000 bridges in various parts of Indonesia is one of the policies that is considered to provide direct benefits to the community. In line with this, the new direction of the economy must also be followed by regulatory reforms so that it can run effectively. At least, said Cak Imin, the PKB notes that there are 108 laws that need to be revised to support the realization of national economic sovereignty. "The PKB notes that at least 108 laws must be improved so that our economic sovereignty can truly be implemented," he stated. He mentioned that the amendment of these laws is a continuation of President Prabowo's commitment to ensure that Indonesia's wealth can be managed and utilized for the greatest welfare of the people.
