Cambodia and Uruguay Vow to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties, Explore Investment and Economic Cooperation
Cambodian Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen met with newly appointed Uruguayan Ambassador Diego Pelufo Acosta y Lara on September 9th. Both nations agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in trade, economy, and investment.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9th, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Diego Pelufo Acosta y Lara, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Uruguay to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The meeting took place at the Senate's Samdech Samaki Vinyah (Unity Palace). Following the meeting, His Excellency Chea Thireth, Spokesperson for the Senate, stated that during the discussion, His Excellency the Ambassador pledged to work diligently to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Uruguay. The Ambassador expressed his immense pride in serving as the Ambassador of Uruguay to Cambodia. On this occasion, Samdech Techo expressed his satisfaction with the Ambassador's remarks and agreed on the importance of enhancing the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Uruguay. Samdech Techo noted that despite the geographical distance between the two countries, they possess significant potential to expand their relations, particularly focusing on trade, economy, and investment, which are the core pillars of Cambodia-Uruguay relations. Finally, Samdech Techo Hun Sen wished His Excellency the Ambassador of Uruguay to Cambodia success in his mission in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
