Cambodia Navy Conducts First Training Exercise with Chinese-Gifted Frigate

The Cambodian Navy has deployed the frigate "Koh Kong Sen Chey" (Hull number 622), a vessel gifted by the Chinese government, for its first live-fire training exercise in Cambodian waters. This exercise is aimed at strengthening the nation's defense capabilities and its ability to protect its territorial seas. The training was attended by General Tea Banh, a senior advisor to the King of Cambodia and a five-star general, and General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense. The exercise took place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the territorial waters of Cambodia off the coast of Sihanoukville province. The "Koh Kong Sen Chey" is a modern warship that arrived in Cambodia in April 2026. This training exercise will provide the Cambodian Navy with new experiences and enhance its technical expertise in operating this advanced vessel.
