Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairwoman of the BRG Group and a prominent Vietnamese businesswoman, has been awarded the prestigious title of 'Labor Hero of the Renovation Period' in recognition of her significant contributions to the nation's economic development. The honor was bestowed during a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the BRG Group's establishment. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Politburo and Chairman of the National Assembly, along with representatives from central ministries, local authorities, foreign embassies, and numerous domestic and international partners. BRG Group and SeABank (Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank) were also honored with the First-Class Labor Order for their strategic contributions to the economy, tax obligations, and community responsibilities. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly praised Ms. Nga's journey of dedication, stating it is closely intertwined with crucial stages of Vietnam's development, particularly since the implementation of the 'Doi Moi' (Renovation) policy. He commended her strategic vision, tenacious spirit, bold actions, entrepreneurial drive, and strong aspiration to contribute, which have led to the creation of a large-scale economic, service, and financial conglomerate with high management capacity and competitiveness. He also highlighted her unwavering commitment to a business path aligned with national interests, the rights of workers, and sustainable societal values. Chairman Man expressed his expectations for Ms. Nga to continue maintaining her pioneering vision and proactive approach, fostering a capable successor generation with strong intellect, ethics, and a spirit of national service. He also encouraged her to further enhance her role as a bridge between the business community and government agencies, uphold national responsibility, cultivate corporate culture, improve the lives of workers, and actively participate in social welfare programs. Ms. Nga founded her first export company in 1993, laying the foundation for the BRG Group. Today, BRG Group has grown into one of Vietnam's leading private multi-sector economic groups, employing over 22,000 staff across various essential sectors. Through strategic partnerships with global leaders such as Hilton, Marriott International, IHG, Accor, and Sumitomo Corporation, she has facilitated the transfer of international management knowledge, technology, and operational experience, contributing to the development of Vietnam's human resources. Notably, driven by her love for national culture, she has dedicated significant effort to reviving and developing 'Chu Dau Pottery,' a traditional Vietnamese ceramic art dating back to the 15th century. Chu Dau pottery artifacts are now displayed in 46 museums across 32 countries, serving as cultural ambassadors of Vietnamese talent and identity on the international stage. BRG Group has committed nearly 600 billion VND (approximately $24 million USD) for social security programs and essential infrastructure development for the 2024-2025 period, including the construction and renovation of approximately 3,800 houses for disadvantaged families and policy beneficiaries. Ms. Nga expressed her deep emotion, pride, and gratitude for the attention from the Party, State, ministries, local authorities, partners, and the community. She stated that the prestigious titles of 'Labor Hero' and the First-Class Labor Order are a recognition of the intellect, discipline, responsibility, and dedication of herself and the over 22,000 employees of BRG Group. 'We will transform these noble awards into concrete actions, higher standards in every project, product, and service, and more practical values to serve the country,' she affirmed. Looking ahead, Ms. Nga and BRG Group are committed to prioritizing national interests, upholding discipline and the rule of law, and leveraging science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation as drivers of development.
