Heavy rainfall possible in many regions of Myanmar

Due to moderate monsoon winds in the Bay of Bengal and the southern Bay of Bengal, active development of cumulonimbus clouds, and cloud clusters detached from a low-pressure cell occurring in the coastal areas of central Vietnam, heavy rainfall is possible in many states and regions from September 13 to 17, with thunderstorms occurring from scattered to widespread in some areas, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced on September 13. It is said that from September 13 to 17, scattered rainfall is possible in Magway Region, Lower Sagaing Region, and Kayah State, while widespread thunderstorms are possible in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, Chin State, Mon State, Rakhine State, and Shan State. Furthermore, it is said that heavy rainfall is possible in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Bago Region, Upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, and Mon State. As heavy rainfall may cause natural disasters such as strong winds, sudden floods, and landslides, residents living near high ground are advised to be aware of the risk of landslides, and residents living near small rivers and streams are advised to be aware of the risk of floods and inundations. In addition, a warning has been issued for domestic flights, and for nearshore and offshore fishing vessels and ships along the Myanmar coast and offshore waters to take precautions in advance.
