Cambodia to Offer Free Office Space for Potential Investors to Boost Inflows

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has announced plans to construct a new facility within its headquarters that will provide office space, information services, document preparation facilities, and meeting rooms for foreign investors exploring investment opportunities in the Kingdom. These facilities will be available free of charge for up to 30 days. Speaking on the sidelines of the July 2 launch of a new Toyota assembly plant at the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone, CDC first vice-chairman Sun Chanthol explained that plans are moving forward for the establishment of an investment support centre. The centre is intended to deliver convenience to potential investors, with representatives from various ministries and government institutions to be stationed there to assist by providing information, facilitating procedures, and supplying legal documents related to investment in Cambodia. "The architectural design has already been completed. The new building will include more than 10 small offices," said Chanthol. "By working from the centre, investors will be able to obtain information directly from government officials before making investment decisions." He believed the new facility would help the Kingdom attract more foreign direct investment (FDI), noting that the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) provides similar office facilities for investors at its headquarters. The CDC’s initiative complements ongoing efforts by the government and private sector to showcase Cambodia’s investment potential through overseas promotion campaigns. "When investment increases, it contributes to accelerating Cambodia’s economic growth and, more importantly, helps reduce poverty among the Cambodian people," Chanthol noted. The number of investment projects approved by the CDC has continued to rise, from 414 projects in 2024 to 630 in 2025. During the first five months of 2026, 226 projects with a combined investment value of approximately $3.3 billion were approved. Chanthol stressed that these achievements were the result of "Cambodia’s sustained peace, political stability and macroeconomic stability, which are fundamental prerequisites for long-term investment decisions, together with the Royal Government’s proactive efforts to address major challenges."
