Gasoline reference prices continue to fall

The Committee for Supervising the Business of Importing, Storing and Distributing Fuel announced the reference prices for fuel on July 17, showing that gasoline prices continue to fall. On July 17, the reference prices for fuel in Yangon were set at 3,210 kyats per liter for Octane 92, 3,285 kyats per liter for Octane 95, 3,175 kyats per liter for ordinary diesel, and 3,895 kyats per liter for premium diesel. Comparing these prices with those up to July 16, Octane 92 has fallen by 40 kyats per liter, and Octane 95 by 25 kyats per liter. On the other hand, ordinary diesel has increased by 80 kyats per liter, and premium diesel by 105 kyats per liter. In Yangon, gasoline prices, which exceeded 4,500 kyats per liter at the end of May, have now fallen to over 3,000 kyats per liter. It has been learned from some parents that the current decline in gasoline prices is convenient for parents who transport their children to and from school during the school opening season.
