Young Author Donates 200 Children's Books to Cambodian Ministry of Education

As part of efforts to promote reading in Cambodia's education sector, young author Anna Sophie has donated 200 copies of her children's picture book, "Land of Chimes in the Time of Quiet," to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. The handover ceremony took place in Phnom Penh on September 14, 2026. The children's picture book was authored by Anna Sophie herself, aiming to support literacy in civic education and English language learning for children in Cambodia. During the donation and reception event, His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, congratulated Anna Sophie on her new achievement, commending her efforts in preparing and authoring the children's picture book, which incorporates valuable educational messages for young readers. Simultaneously, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his profound gratitude for her continued support for Cambodia's education sector. He affirmed that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will distribute these books to libraries in schools located in border areas and temporary schools in safety camps in the future. This initiative aligns with the government's policy to enhance the quality of primary education in Cambodia and improve access to English language education, particularly for children in border regions and those in economically disadvantaged situations. The efforts of young individuals like Anna Sophie in supporting education highlight a growing societal focus on nurturing the next generation in Cambodia.
