Vietnam Universities to Announce Entrance Exam Scores Early, 11 Institutions Expected on August 9

Several Vietnamese universities are expected to announce their entrance exam scores earlier than the planned deadline. Notably, 11 institutions are anticipated to release their results on August 9, immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training's final "virtual selection" phase for university applications. The virtual selection process, managed on the Ministry's unified system, is scheduled to conclude on August 9 at 5 PM. Following this, universities will review and announce their admission results by 5 PM on August 13. However, with three rounds of virtual selection already completed, 11 universities have indicated their intention to announce scores at least one day earlier than the final deadline. This year's high school graduation exams saw a record number of over 1.2 million candidates. Among them, approximately 875,000 registered for university admissions, submitting a total of over 7.18 million applications, averaging more than 8 applications per student. The six-round virtual selection aims to ensure that each candidate is admitted to only one preferred program. This early announcement is crucial for students, allowing them to confirm their university placements sooner, and for universities to finalize their admission preparations. In Vietnam's single-party system, state-led planning is paramount in sectors like education, with the university admissions process centrally managed.
