Car carrying 3,000 methamphetamine pills flees and is intercepted with barricades

It has been reported that in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, Myanmar, a car carrying narcotics fled when ordered to stop for inspection, and was subsequently intercepted and arrested by the police force under the interim government using barricades. Around 7 PM on September 1st, while waiting based on information at the intersection of Cha Nyi Kan Street, Ward 18, Taungoo City, the white WISH vehicle (License Plate: 4I/8881), driven by Lin Htet Phyo (alias Ko Lin) from Zawtgyi Village, Ziddine Village Tract, was stopped for inspection. However, the driver did not stop and fled towards the new city of Ketumathe along the old Yangon-Mandalay Road. As the vehicle fled, the police force pursued it closely from behind, informed the Kyun Kon Township Police Station in advance, and set up barricades along the route to intercept and arrest the vehicle. Following the interception and arrest of the vehicle, a detailed search was conducted, revealing 3,000 methamphetamine pills concealed in a hidden compartment in the lower part of the car. SIM cards were found in a hidden compartment in the car door, and 110,000 kyats were seized from a wallet. Currently, Lin Htet Phyo (alias Ko Lin), who was arrested with the methamphetamine pills, has been charged at the Taungoo City Police Station under Section 19(a)/20(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and is facing legal action. Local residents stated that narcotics are currently excessively prevalent in Taungoo City, and drugs are easily available in KTVs, massage parlors, and gambling houses, leading to about half of the city's youth becoming victims of drug abuse.
