Vietnam Accelerates Construction of Boarding Schools in Border Areas to Enhance Education Quality

The Vietnamese government has issued a directive to accelerate the construction of boarding schools that combine primary and secondary education in border areas. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, in Directive No. 50/CĐ-TTg dated July 20, instructed to speed up the progress of construction and ensure the quality of these schools. This directive is part of the government's ongoing efforts to address educational disparities within Vietnam and promote equal educational opportunities, particularly in geographically disadvantaged border regions. Boarding schools play a crucial role in enabling students residing in remote areas to access quality education. The directive emphasizes the importance of closely monitoring the progress of construction projects and ensuring their timely completion according to plan. Furthermore, it requires maintaining high standards for the quality of the schools being built to prevent any negative impact on the future learning environment. In the past, construction of boarding schools in collaboration with military units has been advanced in areas such as Dak Lak province, with projects progressing with the support of the local community. Dien Bien province had set a goal to complete the construction of the Thanh Nưa Inter-level Boarding School by July 30. Vice Prime Ministerial inspections have also been conducted, confirming the progress of boarding school construction projects around Hue City. These developments indicate the Vietnamese government's positioning of educational infrastructure development as one of its national development priorities.
