Phnom Penh Authorities Arrest 3 Suspects in 3 Separate Cases: Attempted Rape of Minor and Drug Offenses

Phnom Penh Capital Command of the Gendarmerie announced on July 27th that three suspects have been arrested and sent to court and drug rehabilitation centers in connection with three separate cases. One suspect is accused of attempted rape of a minor, while the other two are involved in drug-related offenses. The arrests were made between July 25th and 26th, with public tip-offs playing a crucial role in the operations. The first case occurred on July 25th in Sen Sok district. The district gendarmerie, responding to a complaint from the victim's father, arrested Nol Chanthara, a 28-year-old male, on suspicion of attempted rape of a 15-year-old minor. The second case took place around 5:10 PM on July 25th in Dangkor district. Following a report via the emergency hotline '1291' from citizens about a man in a drug-induced state causing disturbances and domestic violence, the district gendarmerie intervened. Ung Saoda, a 25-year-old male, was apprehended and sent to a drug rehabilitation center. The third incident occurred around 6:50 PM on July 26th in Kompol district. Similar to the second case, the emergency hotline '1291' received a report about a man in a drug-induced state causing disturbances and domestic violence. Kompol district gendarmerie officers responded immediately, arresting Von Bros Pov, a 27-year-old male. Seized from the suspect were approximately one gram of white crystalline substance, a drug-smoking pipe, and a knife. He has been sent to court on charges of illegal possession and use of narcotics. These arrests underscore the importance of public cooperation in maintaining public safety.
