Cambodia Hosts Regional Forum to Promote Social Morality and Value of Women and Families

On September 23, 2026, in Siem Reap village, Kandal Stueng district, Kandal province, the Provincial Department of Women's Affairs, in collaboration with the district administration, organized an educational forum on "Promoting Social Morality, the Value of Women, and Cambodian Families." The forum aimed to strengthen understanding of social morality, the value of women, and to participate in preventing domestic violence. The event was presided over by Ms. Chrun Sreyneng, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, and was attended by representatives from relevant ministries and departments, local authorities, and approximately 200 citizens, especially women. Ms. Chrun Sreyneng stated that the program was organized with the objectives of strengthening, preserving, and protecting national culture, customs, and traditions, as well as promoting social morality, the value of women, and happiness within Cambodian families. The Deputy Governor emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Hun Manet, the government continues to implement the "Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I," prioritizing the strengthening of citizenship in a civilized, moral, equitable, and inclusive society. She urged all parents and guardians to pay attention to educating and guiding their children to follow the right path, staying away from drugs and other vices. She noted that if families are happy, understand and tolerate each other, and live with good morals, the entire nation will be safe, stable, and achieve sustainable development. She also called on local authorities and all citizens to continue jointly promoting social morality and the value of women, and to work together to prevent domestic violence more effectively. In addition, Ms. Sreyneng reminded the public to be cautious about risky migration, urging them to obtain accurate information and migrate through legal channels to avoid falling into traps of labor exploitation and human trafficking.
