Dong Thap Public Security Celebrates 80 Years of People's Security Forces, Pushes Digital Transformation
Dong Thap Public Security celebrated the 80th anniversary of the People's Security Forces, honoring past achievements and emphasizing accelerated digital transformation and technological application for future tasks. This aligns with strengthening national security under Vietnam's one-party system.
On July 9, the Dong Thap Provincial Public Security organized a grand ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the People's Security Forces (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026). Over 80 years of construction, combat, and growth, along with the People's Security Forces nationwide, the security forces of Dong Thap Provincial Public Security have continuously matured and strengthened, achieving numerous outstanding feats and accomplishments, contributing to the glorious tradition of the heroic People's Security Forces. Generations of officers and soldiers have been honored with many noble awards from the Party, State, Ministry of Public Security, Provincial Party Committee, and Provincial People's Committee, including 34 collectives and individuals awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Security Forces, and 13 units awarded Labor Medals of various classes. On this occasion, Dong Thap Provincial Public Security awarded commendations to 20 collectives and 60 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the special emulation movement celebrating the 80th anniversary of the People's Security Forces. To meet the requirements of future tasks, Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen, Director of Dong Thap Provincial Public Security, urged all officers and soldiers to continuously innovate and enhance their understanding of national security work in the new context. "We must change our thinking and methods, strongly transform our working modes and states, promote and accelerate digital transformation, apply science and technology to our work, and stand firm before all difficulties and challenges, worthy of the tradition of the heroic People's Security Forces," stated Major General Nguyen. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of generations of the Dong Thap Provincial Public Security's security forces over the past 80 years. He expressed confidence that the provincial police forces in general, and the People's Security Forces in particular, will always be a sharp "sword" and a strong "shield," contributing to leading the country and the province firmly into a new era of development alongside the entire Party, people, and army.
