Rayong Factory Apologizes for Improper Wastewater Discharge, Cites System Error

A factory in the Huai Pong district of Rayong Province, eastern Thailand, has explained that an improper discharge of treated wastewater into a public canal was caused by a system error and has expressed its apologies. According to reports from MGR Online (Regional), after the issue came to light, the factory conducted an investigation. The results concluded that the discharge was not intentional but rather due to a malfunction in the treatment system. The company deeply apologizes for any inconvenience caused to local residents by this incident and pledges to promptly rectify the problematic system and strive for the prevention of recurrence. Meanwhile, the company also added that the water quality test results of the discharged water did not exceed local environmental standards. However, the act of improper discharge itself has become a factor raising concerns about the environment within the local community. This incident has once again highlighted the importance of environmental management in industrial areas in Thailand.
