An Giang Province Recognizes Founding Anniversary of Armed Forces

An Giang Province in southwestern Vietnam officially recognized September 10th as the founding anniversary of its armed forces (after unification) during a ceremony held in Rach Gia Ward on September 13th. The event was jointly organized by the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and the 9th Military Region. During the ceremony, the title of People's Armed Forces Hero was posthumously awarded to Mr. La Sa Kien Tri and Mr. Huynh Van Thanh (deceased). This is a traditional measure under Vietnam's one-party system to honor individuals who have contributed to national defense and social order maintenance. Recently, new party branches of the Provincial Party Committee were established, and the Propaganda and Training Department and the Mass Mobilization Department were renamed. This is part of an effort to strengthen political leadership and enhance information dissemination and mobilization capabilities among the populace through party organizational restructuring. Furthermore, An Giang Province is pursuing policies to achieve double-digit growth by leveraging land resources and is implementing flexible cadre training plans for the upcoming term. These economic and personnel policies are aligned with Vietnam's overall economic growth strategy, with particular emphasis on creating an environment conducive to foreign investment. In terms of personnel, Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang was appointed as the Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Military Command, and Mr. Le Quang Tung was appointed as the Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee. These appointments suggest an intention to strengthen party control in local administration and establish a system to ensure the firm implementation of central government policies at the local level.
