Myanmar-Vietnam cooperation at best time to open new chapter, says President Min Aung Hlaing

As both Vietnam and Myanmar are currently formulating and implementing important political and economic development policies, it is the best time to explore mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities between the two countries and open a new chapter, said State Administration Council Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing. State Administration Council Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, made these remarks during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Mr. Le Minh Hung at the Grand Hall of the Government Office in Hanoi on the afternoon of September 5, local time. During the meeting, the Vietnamese Prime Minister said that the current visit led by Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing will deepen political trust and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, and will be able to elevate bilateral relations and common interests to a new stage in the future. He also stated that he supports the efforts of the Myanmar government to achieve domestic stability and peace, to develop the national economy and improve the living standards of the people, and to promote relations between international and regional countries. He also expressed his belief that the current visit by Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing will further enhance and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as progress in cooperation and relations between the two countries can be seen at present. Following this, State Administration Council Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing said that the two countries are historically friendly nations, and that the leaders of both sides have made reciprocal visits and have always maintained a friendly and trustworthy relationship. He stated that under his administration, bilateral relations have regained momentum with the revitalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reciprocal high-level visits, and the resumption of suspended bilateral mechanisms, including the Joint Commission (JC) for bilateral cooperation. He also said that his current visit is a testament to opening a new chapter in Myanmar-Vietnam bilateral relations, and he is pleased to be able to discuss matters to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation frankly. He also stated that his government has been pursuing two priority objectives since taking office: achieving national stability and peace, and achieving national development, and is focusing on areas such as infrastructure development, agriculture and livestock, transportation, upgrading roads and bridges, communication, education, health, and rural development for national development. State Administration Council Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing also said that procedures will be reviewed to increase domestic and foreign investment, and that economic activities will be implemented at a rapid pace with simple rules and regulations. Following this, the State Administration Council Chairman and the Vietnamese Prime Minister discussed the developments in Myanmar, the potential for enhancing bilateral relations, the potential for promoting cooperation between governments, parliaments, and peoples, as well as cooperation in the fields of defense and security, economy, trade and investment, agriculture and livestock, education and health, social affairs and women's affairs, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, and communication technology. Afterwards, the State Administration Council Chairman departed from the Government Office, and it was reported that the Vietnamese Prime Minister warmly saw him off and bid farewell.
