The decision by the Ministry of National Defence sees 82 personnel from the Vietnam People's Army and the People's Public Security Force, accompanied by 10 search-and-rescue dogs, heading to the affected region. The contingent will undertake tasks such as searching for victims trapped under collapsed structures, conducting urban search-and-rescue operations, providing emergency medical assistance to survivors, and carrying out other humanitarian tasks. The deployed team conducted a field survey in La Guaira to assess the situation in the earthquake-hit areas. This presence of Vietnamese military personnel in earthquake relief and recovery vividly demonstrates the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam.
