Lang Son Province Launches Digital Public Service Station Model

On July 27, 2024, the People's Committee of Lang Son Province, in coordination with the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), held an opening ceremony for the pilot model of a "Digital Public Service Station." This initiative marks a significant step in the modernization of public administrative services in the province. The Digital Public Service Station aims to drive administrative reform by leveraging the simplification and efficiency of administrative procedures. In recent years, Vietnam has positioned digital transformation (DX) as a national strategy, and promoting DX in the administrative sector is considered essential for improving public services, preventing corruption, and fostering economic growth. Lang Son Province has already achieved 30 out of 36 digital transformation goals and has focused on developing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. In particular, promoting digital transformation at the xã (commune) and phường (ward) levels is expected to create a breakthrough in regional development. Agribank plays a crucial role as a "pillar" in Vietnam's agricultural and rural development and is an important partner in the operation of the Digital Public Service Station. This collaboration aims to simultaneously improve access to financial services and streamline administrative procedures. Under Vietnam's one-party system, government-led promotion of digitalization is actively being adopted even at the local government level as a policy directly linked to improving administrative efficiency and the convenience of people's lives.
