5 Ambulances Donated for Sumatra Disaster Recovery Efforts

The Minister of Home Affairs and Head of the Task Force for Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR), Muhammad Tito Karnavian, received a donation of five ambulances from the Civil Servants Corps of the Republic of Indonesia (Korpri). The donation was handed over directly by the Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) and Chairman of the National Korpri Board, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) office in Jakarta on Monday (13/7). Tito assessed that the assistance is very meaningful for the disaster-affected communities in Sumatra. The five ambulances will be distributed to disaster-affected areas, namely Aceh Tamiang Regency, East Aceh Regency, North Aceh Regency, Agam Regency, and Tapanuli Tengah Regency. Tito explained that the selection of these areas was based on their continued need for serious attention in their recovery, not to disregard other regions. "We will distribute these, and they will certainly be beneficial for the community there," Tito said. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh stated that Korpri has previously provided various forms of assistance to disaster-affected areas. "And the biggest is in the form of five ambulances, which we hand over to the Minister as the Head of the Task Force. Minister, please accept them and continue to deliver them to Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra," he said. Currently, some of the affected areas have passed the emergency response period and are entering the transition phase of recovery towards rehabilitation and reconstruction. Tito added that the government, through the PRR Task Force, has carried out various handling efforts, including in the health sector. "The health sector is one of the sectors that has been worked on most quickly by the team from the Minister of Health, public health centers, and hospitals are already operational. Quite a lot were affected yesterday," Tito concluded.
