Yesterday, July 15, at around 7 PM, the interim government military dropped three bombs from a jet fighter on Manawthiri village in Pauktaw township, located about 15 miles from Sittwe city. "Artillery shelling is also being carried out from military units in Sittwe towards Pauktaw and Ponnagyun. Now, attacks are also coming from the air," a source told the Irrawaddy Times. As a result of the bombing, bomb fragments fell and exploded within the village, injuring 26-year-old Ma Hnin Soe and 52-year-old U Khin Htun Win from Ngazun village, who was visiting Manawthiri village. Furthermore, it was learned that on July 13, up to 52 bombs were heavily dropped in Gwa township in southern Rakhine State using jet fighters and Y12 aircraft, and another 4 bombs were dropped and attacked on July 14. In addition to airstrikes, the interim government military also bombed and destroyed the Min Chaung Creek bridge in Kyaukphyu township with two gyrocopters on July 14, with the aim of disrupting transportation in the region.
