A Filipino woman, a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries and is receiving medical treatment at the hospital. The incident took place on September 19th at kilometer 94+600 on the expressway heading from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh, located in Village 6, Yey Mao Pich Nil Commune, Phnom Sruoch District, Kampong Speu Province. The vehicle involved was a Toyota Prius, silver in color, with license plate Phnom Penh 2CM-1813, driven by a 26-year-old male named Reth Samphors, residing in Ta Ieak Village, Samrong Commune, Banteay Meas District, Kampot Province. Onboard as a passenger was BIHASA DEVIE LYN, a 28-year-old female of Filipino nationality, holding passport number P1629466D, who was staying in Sihanoukville. According to police, the car was traveling from west to east when it veered to the right at the specified location, colliding with the expressway's safety barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to lose balance and fall off the expressway. The passenger, the Filipino woman, suffered severe injuries. Following the accident, rescue teams and police officers collaborated to transport her to a hospital in Phnom Penh for medical assistance. Lieutenant Colonel Chun Chanthadet, Chief of Phnom Stroeng District Police, has taken custody of the driver and the vehicle at the district police inspectorate for further legal proceedings.
