Kampong Speu Court Escapee Apprehended at Girlfriend's Residence

Kampong Speu Provincial Police have arrested Leng Kaev, 27, a suspect who escaped from the provincial court on September 17, 2026. Kaev, along with another escapee, allegedly scaled the wall of the court premises to flee. Under the strict command of Kampong Speu Provincial Police Chief Major General Khim Sokha, authorities on the morning of September 22, 2026, successfully apprehended another suspect in a theft case who had previously escaped. The arrest took place at the residence of the suspect's girlfriend, Chuy Sokny, 21, where a long weapon (a knife) was also confiscated. Kaev is one of two suspects who escaped from the court on September 17, 2026. At the time of their escape, both suspects had requested to use the restroom while being transferred to the prosecutor's office, and subsequently fled. The other escapee, Vorn Vuthy, 31, has been arrested for attempted property theft.
