North Korea held live-fire drills involving artillery and missiles

Ayeyarwaddy Times, September 14 North Korea conducted a live-fire military exercise involving artillery and missile units, state-run KCNA reported on September 14. The military exercise, held on September 12, tested five regiments as well as numerous other weapon systems. It was learned that the military exercise included various combat drones, tactical cruise missiles, guided missiles, and rocket launchers. KCNA quoted the artillery commander as saying that "upon receiving the order, the morale of the troops was boosted to crush the enemy." The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed on September 12 that North Korea had fired short-range guided missiles into the sea off its eastern coast. Following this missile launch, South Korea, Japan, and the United States immediately conducted joint military exercises. North Korea's live-fire military exercise is increasing military tensions in the region. Southeast Asian and Asian countries are anxiously watching North Korea's weapons tests. Security conditions on the Korean Peninsula are becoming more complicated due to such military exercises.
