Pagasa also said the same weather conditions were already being experienced in the Quezon towns of Lopez, Buenavista, Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, and Guinayangan. In these areas, rains may persist for up to two hours and could spread to nearby areas. Pagasa advised the public to remain vigilant as the thunderstorms could trigger flooding and landslides. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” it said. Pagasa continues to monitor a low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, which has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone by Wednesday. As of Monday morning, the LPA was located 495 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, and was forecast to move across the Southern Luzon-Visayas area on Tuesday before reaching the West Philippine Sea the following day.
