Cambodia Denies Thai Military's Claims on Chinese Military Attaché's Statement

Cambodian officials have denied claims made by the Thai military that a Chinese military delegation had informed Cambodia to refrain from using Chinese-made military equipment along the Cambodia-Thailand border. A Cambodian government official, who verified the information with the Chinese Embassy, stated on August 7th that these claims were baseless. The Cambodian official asserted that the assertion by the Thai military regarding a meeting between Chinese military representatives and the Thai side, which stated that China had told Cambodia that "Chinese-made military equipment should not be used in areas along the Cambodia-Thailand border," was entirely unfounded. The official emphasized that the Chinese military attaché stationed in Bangkok did not make any such statement as propagated by the Thai military. Instead, the Chinese side used the meeting to reaffirm its sincere and strong commitment and dedication to promoting peace, dialogue, and good relations between neighboring countries. It is worth noting that Khaosod English newspaper, on August 6th, had cited the Royal Thai Army's claims about a meeting between Chinese military representatives and the Thai side.
