Cambodia Shares Lessons from January 7 Victory Day at Commemorative Event
The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held a series of lectures commemorating January 7, with HE Khieu Kanharith as a special speaker. He shared the invaluable lessons of the January 7 victory, achieved after overcoming the tragedies of the 1970s, and the experiences of past leaders, aiming to guide and pass on knowledge to the younger generation.
On the morning of September 6, 2026, HE Khieu Kanharith, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and a personal advisor to the King, was invited as a special speaker at the serial lecture series "Living Heritage: The Value of January 7" held at the January 7 Memorial Hall. The lecture was under the theme "Open Forum on the Life Journey and Actual Experiences of HE Khieu Kanharith." At the beginning of the event, HE Hun Many, Secretary-General of the Youth Movement of the CPP Central Committee, spoke about the devastation and tragedy Cambodia experienced in the 1970s. He highlighted the invaluable worth of the January 7 victory, which arose from the determination, sacrifice, participation, and unity of the elder generation of leaders, intellectuals, and the public. Connecting with this, HE Hun Many quoted the meaningful words of HE Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the CPP: "The young have strength and know the way; the old have experience." In line with this noble guiding vision, the Youth Movement initiated and organized this serial lecture series, "Living Heritage: The Value of January 7." Speaking at the ceremony, HE Khieu Kanharith welcomed and thanked HE Hun Many for dedicating his valuable time to participate as a special speaker, sharing his experiences, past history, and intellectual legacy with all members of the forum. As the younger generation, the participants expressed immense pride and profound gratitude for the heroic examples, sacrifices, and tireless efforts of the previous generation of leaders who struggled relentlessly for the cause of the nation and the people.
