Pathein-Chaung Gyi train service temporarily suspended due to flooded railway tracks

The Pathein-Henzada-Chaung Gyi train service has been temporarily suspended since August 4 due to flooded railway tracks, according to Myanmar Railways. It is reported that the temporary suspension of the train service has been announced at the respective stations. It is known that about 7 inches of water are flooding the railway tracks between Daikpyet and Zarathla on the Pathein-Henzada-Chaung Gyi railway line. Currently, severe flooding is occurring in the Nga Wun River in the Le Myet Ngar Township of Ayeyarwady Region due to the collapse of the embankment, affecting tens of thousands of people, and flooding is also occurring in some areas of neighboring townships.
