Kampong Speu Governor Orders Accelerated Land Dispute Resolution and Strengthened Security

Kampong Speu province has issued strict directives concerning the accelerated resolution of land issues and the strengthening of local security during the 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council. The meeting, chaired by Mr. Yim Sokhom, President of the Provincial Council, and H.E. Dr. Cham Chanthy Sothon, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, was attended by provincial leaders, officials, and district governors. Mr. Yim Sokhom commended the efforts of leaders and civil servants, urging for strengthened internal solidarity and close cooperation between the Provincial Council, the Provincial Administration, and relevant departments. He emphasized the need for timely and transparent resolution of challenges and public demands, along with the diligent implementation of the provincial development plan in line with government policies. Governor Dr. Cham Chanthy Sothon stressed the importance of accurate and timely management of incoming and outgoing correspondence and data compilation. He issued a stern order to all responsible officials conducting missions to factories and enterprises, mandating that they must possess official documents from the provincial administration to ensure legality, transparency, and high efficiency in public service delivery to citizens and investors. Furthermore, the Governor urged for the swift and just resolution of land disputes for citizens and the continued distribution of land titles. He also instructed district authorities to enhance cooperation with relevant departments to clearly verify administrative boundaries, preventing overlaps with land authorities. Regarding security, while acknowledging the generally good situation, Governor Dr. Cham Chanthy Sothon called for intensified implementation of the 'Safe Village/Commune/District' policy by all levels of authorities and armed forces. He specifically emphasized the need for highly effective operations to investigate, inspect, and crack down on online gambling and scam operations to ensure the safety and peace of residents. He also requested the Cambodian Red Cross Society of Kampong Speu Province to collaborate closely with relevant forces to conduct extensive education and dissemination of the Road Traffic Law, particularly targeting factory workers, to raise awareness about travel safety, reduce accidents, and protect lives and property. Governor Dr. Cham Chanthy Sothon informed officials that the provincial administration has completed preparations for a major provincial marathon event scheduled for August 9th, under the high presidency of H.E. Dr. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service.
