Da Nang to Host Tourism Technology Forum Next Month

Da Nang city in central Vietnam is preparing to host a hotel and tourism technology forum next month. This event is positioned as part of the city's strategy to further solidify its standing as a rapidly growing hub in Asia and attract international investment and tourists. Da Nang is recognized for its harmonious blend of beautiful beaches, an energetic yet relaxed lifestyle, a rich culinary scene, and diverse experiences spanning nature, culture, leisure, and entertainment. Travel guides like Lonely Planet also praise it as an ideal gateway to central Vietnam, offering convenient access to Hoi An, Hue, and the My Son Sanctuary. The forum comes as Vietnam cements its position as one of Asia's fastest-growing manufacturing and logistics hubs, with increasing demand for more integrated, technology-driven supply chain solutions. This reflects the sector's ongoing push towards greater competitiveness and deeper participation in global value chains. The forum is expected to focus on leveraging the latest technologies in the tourism sector, particularly in enhancing the efficiency of the hospitality industry, improving customer experiences, and promoting sustainable tourism models. The Vietnamese government emphasizes the development of the service sector as a key driver of economic growth, with technology being an indispensable element for its advancement. Furthermore, Vietnam boasts a massive domestic consumer market of 100 million people, with rising incomes leading to growing demand for processed and health-oriented food products. This indicates investment opportunities not only in tourism-related industries but also in the entire associated supply chain. Moreover, Vietnam is seeking to capitalize on its geo-economic advantages, extensive network of free trade agreements (FTAs), and improving investment climate to attract new investment, expand manufacturing, and boost exports. Notably, the country ranks fifth globally, second in Asia, and first in Southeast Asia in wood and wood product exports, providing an important foundation for pursuing modern, sustainable development and generating higher added value. To maximize these economic opportunities, Da Nang is also focusing on infrastructure development and streamlining administrative procedures. The authority for the Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones has completed administrative procedures under its special mechanisms and policies, leaving the system ready for deployment once the zone's functional areas officially begin operations.
