Yangon, July 13 According to a report by the Myanmar Internet Project (MIP), the Myanmar Army conducted 520 airstrikes in 13 regions and states excluding Yangon Region, resulting in the deaths of 314 civilians, including children and women. Between April and the end of June 2026, over a three-month period, airstrikes by the State Administration Council forces were experienced in 87 townships across 13 regions and states, excluding Yangon Region, totaling 520 incidents. It is understood that at least 314 civilians died as a result of these aerial bombings. Among the deceased, there were 41 children, at least 58 women, and 15 elderly individuals. Approximately 95.5% of all deaths occurred in areas where the internet had been cut off. The Myanmar Internet Project (MIP) has pointed out that these figures highlight the most dangerous situation for civilians living in areas facing communication difficulties, who are at the highest risk of injury and death due to airstrikes. Chin State was the most severely affected region with 122 airstrikes, followed by Sagaing Region with 101 incidents, and Rakhine State with 98 incidents, indicating a dire situation. Approximately 62% of all airstrike incidents occurred in these three regions where intense military conflict with the military junta is ongoing. It has been observed that these are areas where the military junta is launching offensives to regain territorial control, and that excessive aerial power is being used in these military operations. Among the townships that were subjected to airstrikes, 510 incidents (98.08%) occurred in areas suffering from internet blackouts. Sagaing Region experienced the most significant impact from airstrikes, with 20 townships affected. Following this, Rakhine State with 12 townships and Magway Region with 9 townships showed the highest levels of impact, according to the release.
