In Yangon, 35 civilians arrested by the military in 10 townships within a week, 32 of whom were forcibly arrested on the street

In Yangon Region, it has been learned that no less than 35 civilians were unjustly arrested by the interim government's military in 10 townships during the week from September 1 to 6. The townships where the military's unjust arrests occurred consecutively in the early part of this September were Mayangone, San Chaung, Hlaing Thar Yar, Thaketa, Mingalar Taung Nyunt, Tamwe, Dagon Myothit (South), Pazundaung, Dagon Myothit (North), and Latha townships. Of the 35 individuals arrested, 32 were forcibly arrested without cause while they were traveling on the road or were by the roadside, while the remaining three were arrested after the military entered their homes, according to the Rangoon Scout Network, which monitors the situation in Yangon Region. The interim government's military has been conducting strict inspections and interrogations in these townships in Yangon from September 1 to 6, citing security reasons, and has since accelerated arrests of civilians on the streets and raids on homes.
