41 Chinese nationals who illegally crossed the border into Myanmar arrested in Tachileik Township

It has been reported that 41 Chinese nationals who illegally crossed the border into Myanmar have been arrested in Tachileik Township. The Myanmar government is coordinating and cooperating with domestic forces and neighboring governments to implement measures to eradicate online scams and gambling within the country, and is also conducting detailed inspections and strict monitoring to prevent illegal immigrants from entering and settling in Myanmar. While these efforts were underway, a joint team including security forces conducted a surprise inspection of a bypass road near the Wailaylan joint inspection gate in the Minephong (Kha) village tract of Tachileik Township, Shan State (East) around 4:00 AM on August 5th. During the inspection, two Chinese men who had illegally crossed the border into Myanmar were arrested. Following the interrogation of the two arrested Chinese men who had illegally crossed the border, it was learned that there were Chinese nationals hiding in the vicinity of Wanpon village after illegally crossing the border. The joint team, including security forces, continued its efforts to identify and arrest those who had illegally crossed the border. As a result, 19 Chinese men and one woman, a total of 20 people, were arrested approximately 4600 meters south of Wanpon village in Tachileik Township. Additionally, 19 Chinese men were arrested approximately 2000 meters northeast of the same location. In total, 40 Chinese men and one woman, a total of 41 Chinese nationals, were arrested and detained. The 41 Chinese nationals who illegally crossed the border into Myanmar have been detained by the relevant authorities and will be prosecuted under Section 3(1)/13(1) of the Myanmar Immigration (Temporary Provisions) Act of 1947.
