Cambodia Promotes Royal Decree on Teacher Statute to Enhance Education Quality

In Phnom Srok district, Banteay Meanchey province, efforts are ongoing to disseminate the Royal Decree on the special statute for teachers. On September 16, 2026, Yim Samnang, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, presided over a workshop for education personnel in the district. The workshop was organized to ensure that education personnel in public educational institutions gain a clearer understanding of the legal framework, statute, rights, obligations, and responsibilities in performing their profession. Deputy Governor Yim Samnang emphasized the crucial role of teachers in educating, training, and developing human resources for national development. He stated that ensuring teachers have a clear understanding of their special statute not only provides administrative knowledge but also strengthens their sense of responsibility, ethics, and professionalism. Mr. Samnang advised relevant officials and all participants to pay close attention to the presentations, engage in discussions, and raise any questions or challenges encountered in practical implementation to ensure the effective dissemination and correct application of the Royal Decree in accordance with current principles and regulations. He also requested educational institution leaders and education officials to further disseminate the information to all education personnel to avoid any gaps in understanding their professional rights and obligations. A proper understanding of the statute will help in managing education personnel more effectively, transparently, and in line with the legal framework. The Deputy Governor encouraged all teachers to continue performing their roles with professionalism, ethics, and high responsibility, particularly by focusing on teaching and educating students, considering education quality as a fundamental basis for human resource and national social development.
