Vietnam Accelerates DNA Sampling for War Martyrs, Honors Wounded Veterans

The Communist Party of Vietnam is intensifying efforts to show gratitude and respect to soldiers who fought for the revolution. Recently, a Party official visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick veteran soldiers in the central province of Nghe An. This spirit is also evident in the accelerated DNA sampling of unidentified war martyrs in the northern province of Cao Bang, a crucial initiative aimed at honoring lost lives and providing information to surviving families. Furthermore, Vietnamese cinemas will offer a week of free screenings to honor war heroes. The "500-day campaign" is also collecting war memorabilia and records of martyrs, all part of efforts to remember past sacrifices and pass them on to future generations. These initiatives, within Vietnam's one-party system, serve to manage the nation's historical memory and strengthen national unity.
