Chachoengsao Pub Raided, 40 Underage Patrons Found

CHACHOENGSAO — A popular pub in central Chachoengsao was raided by a special Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) team on August 8th, following complaints of unlicensed operation and serving underage patrons. The operation, led by Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir Suwannachwee, involved DOPA special operations officers, provincial and district officials, and Chachoengsao police. They raided the 90’s Bar & Restaurant on Thepkhunakorn Road in Na Mueang subdistrict around 1:30 AM. Upon entering, officials separated customers for screening and discovered over 40 patrons under the age of 20. The raid also uncovered crystal methamphetamine and ketamine, allegedly discarded by customers attempting to conceal the drugs. Urine tests revealed that more than 30 individuals, both male and female, had substances in their systems. Further inspection of a concealed area on the second floor revealed nearly 10 karaoke rooms that were reportedly operating, allowing customers to continue drinking and using the rooms even after leaving the main pub area. The raid was prompted by complaints received by Mueang Chachoengsao district officials regarding groups of young people allegedly gathering at the venue. An initial inspection confirmed the establishment lacked the necessary permits to operate. The individual claiming ownership of the venue was identified as a village headman in Khlong Preng subdistrict. He reportedly stated that several other individuals, including government officials, were also business partners. Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir ordered local authorities to pursue legal action against all parties involved and to prepare for the immediate shutdown of the establishment.
