Cambodia Boosts High School Exam Transparency with Over 4,000 Observers

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Cambodia has highly praised the system for organizing the high school graduation examination (Bak Doep), implemented by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. The ACU considers this system to be highly effective and deems it necessary for continuous strengthening to ensure a transparent and just examination process, embodying the spirit of "those who know will pass." This assessment was made during the 12th meeting of the 4th mandate of the National Council for Anti-Corruption (NACC), held on the afternoon of July 29, 2026. In line with its work program, the ACU will participate in observing the high school graduation examination scheduled for August 10, 2026. The unit has completed the selection of 4,150 volunteer observers and has commenced observation work, with ACU teams directly involved from the stage of printing and packaging examination papers, as organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. It is noteworthy that the ACU announced the recruitment of 4,150 volunteers to participate in observing the Bak Doep examination process, scheduled for August 10, 2026. These volunteers will be deployed to examination centers across the capital and provinces. The allocated numbers for each province are as follows: Banteay Meanchey 168, Prey Veng 273, Battambang 252, Pursat 101, Kampong Cham 265, Ratanakiri 53, Kampong Chhnang 136, Siem Reap 304, Kampong Speu 180, Preah Sihanouk 70, Kampong Thom 175, Stung Treng 38, Kampot 148, Svay Rieng 139, Kandal 363, Takeo 270, Koh Kong 38, Kep 15, Kratié 76, Pailin 22, Mondulkiri 25, Oddar Meanchey 48, Phnom Penh 767, Tboung Khmum 167, and Preah Vihear 57.
