Water from mountains flows into Pubbthiri and Uttarathiri, residents relocated

In Pubbthiri and Uttarathiri townships in Naypyidaw, water flowing from the mountains has caused flooding, necessitating the rescue and relocation of households in the affected wards, according to the Fire Services Department of Myanmar. According to the statement, around 10 p.m. on July 31, the Gwe Gyi stream in Pubbthiri Township overflowed, causing water to enter homes. As a result, rescue and relocation assistance was provided to households in the vicinity of Sinhu Shin Ward, Yangon 1 Street, Yangon 2 Street, and Yangon 3 Street. Similarly, around 9 p.m. on July 31, water flowing from the Phosoung mountain in Uttarathiri Township caused flooding. The Fire Services Department carried out rescue operations in areas including the Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, the Blood Transfusion Center, and the X-ray Center. Furthermore, on the morning of August 1, troops led by the Chief Fire Officer of Ayeyarwady Region were continuing rescue and relocation efforts in wards and villages in Laymyethna Township where water had entered due to a breach in the Myocho In dam, according to the statement.
