Cambodia: Takhmao Province Celebrates High School Graduates, Local Development Official Encourages Further Study

A ceremony was held on September 12 in Tram Kak district, Takeo province, southern Cambodia, to celebrate 1165 students who successfully passed the high school graduation examination (Bak Doup) held on August 10-11, 2026. The event was attended by Tuon Siphon, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and Head of the Royal Government working group for Tram Kak district, who encouraged the students. The ceremony took place at Wat Mongkol Mian Lak Pagoda in Trapeang Svay village, Trapeang Khun North commune, Tram Kak district. Participants included local monks, members of the government working group, administrative officials, teachers, students, and a large number of parents and community members. In his congratulatory remarks, Undersecretary Tuon Siphon praised the students' past efforts and achievements, stating they are a source of pride for the local community. He urged the successful students to continue deepening their knowledge in specialized fields at higher education institutions to maximize their potential. He emphasized this as a crucial step towards becoming individuals who will contribute to the nation's and their hometown's development in the future. The Undersecretary also highlighted that this success is a result of the students' own hard work, the dedicated guidance of their teachers, and the support of their parents. For students who did not pass, he offered words of encouragement to not be discouraged and to strive harder for future examinations. This event underscores the Cambodian government's commitment to investing in education and nurturing the next generation.
