Vietnam Streamlines Public Service Units for Efficiency and Service Quality

Vietnam is continuing to restructure public service units across ministries and local authorities. This reorganization is being carried out in line with each sector and management level, aiming to strengthen autonomous operating mechanisms, streamline organizations, improve operational effectiveness and efficiency, and enhance the quality of public services. Specific examples include the consolidation of 23 project management boards into three in Dong Nai province. Furthermore, in local governance, the restructuring of residential areas is being implemented to enhance the executive power of local governments. Recommendations are also being made regarding the system and policies for the deployment and employment of part-time military officials at the local level. In the education sector, the restructuring of the public school network is progressing. Bac Ninh province has indicated a policy to reduce school management departments by at least 30% to 50% after the restructuring. These movements are seen as part of the "State Administrative Reform" initiative championed by the Communist Party of Vietnam, aiming to build an administrative system that provides more efficient and higher quality services to the public.
