Cambodia's Economy Projected to Grow 4.1% in 2026 Amid External Pressures

Cambodia's economic growth is projected to reach approximately 4.1 percent in 2026, driven by global impacts, rising fuel prices, and inflationary pressures, said H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance. He revealed the economic projection update at the Trust Forum 2026 held in Phnom Penh on Aug. 4. Despite increasing regional and global uncertainty, Cambodia’s economy achieved growth of 5.3 percent in 2025, he said. “For 2026, economic growth is projected at approximately 4.1 percent, reflecting the effects of global developments, rising fuel prices, and inflationary pressures,” H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth said. In response, the Royal Government of Cambodia has continued to introduce timely and targeted measures to address emerging challenges, maintain socio-economic development momentum, and strengthen national economic resilience, he added.
