Vietnam Government Urges Swift Completion of Eight Key Draft Laws and Resolutions

The Vietnamese government has ordered the swift finalization of eight crucial draft laws and resolutions essential for socio-economic development. These include the revised Law on Land, Law on Housing, Law on Real Estate Business, consolidated Law on State Budget, amendments to the Law on Investment, a National Assembly resolution amending and supplementing certain articles of Resolution No. 107/2023/QH15 on applying additional corporate income tax under global tax base erosion regulations, the revised Law on Democracy in Basic Units, and the revised Law on the Organization of Criminal Investigation Agencies. These draft laws and resolutions are considered vital, with broad implications directly related to mobilizing resources for socio-economic development. They also address areas facing practical difficulties and bottlenecks, necessitating urgent completion to unlock resources, improve the investment and business environment, and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management. The government emphasized the principle that legislation must lead development, resolve overlapping issues and inadequacies, effectively mobilize and utilize resources, create new development space, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of citizens and businesses. Consequently, Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction, Finance, Home Affairs, and Public Security have been instructed to directly oversee the full and serious incorporation of opinions from the Ministry of Justice's appraisal, valid opinions from Government members, and the Prime Minister's conclusions at the session. They are required to expedite the completion of all documentation for the draft laws and resolutions in accordance with the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, solicit opinions from Government members as per the Government's working regulations, and report to the Deputy Prime Minister in charge for consideration and decision before September 21, 2026, for submission to the National Assembly. Close coordination with National Assembly bodies and relevant agencies during the appraisal, revision, and finalization process of these draft laws and resolutions is also mandated. Source: Nhan Dan
