Vietnam Braces for Widespread Heavy Rainfall, Central and Southern Regions May See Over 300mm

The Vietnam Meteorological Agency has announced that widespread heavy rainfall is expected across the central and southern regions of the country from the night of September 22nd to September 23rd. Particularly, from Hue down to the South Central Coast, parts of the Central Highlands, and the southern regions, localized extremely heavy rain is possible, with some areas potentially exceeding 300mm of precipitation. In contrast, the northern regions are expected to experience mostly little rain, with sunny spells during the day and some areas facing heat. Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces are also forecast to have clear weather or minimal rainfall. This is thought to be part of the seasonal weather pattern, with the influence of low-pressure systems and monsoons concentrating in the southern regions. Vietnam, especially during the rainy season, faces increased risks of floods and landslides due to such heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to issue warnings. Source: Nhan Dan
